Please check your student's planner NIGHTLY. We take time at the beginning of every class to write the assignment off the board and into the planner. I also go over any assignments at that time, or assignment reminder, verbally. There should be NO reason they do not have an assignment written in the box for social studies EVERY day!
It is an adjustment for your student to manage different classes and expectations. This adjustment needs parent guidance and reminders. Planners will let you know what each teacher is expecting for outside of class work. Also, I have stamped in the planners if I did not receive HW or projects from your student. I also stamp in the planner if she/he is tardy. |
INDEPENDENT PRACTICE:
In quarter 2 we have now switched over to requiring all students to do each enrichment activity regardless of their grade goal in the class. I told, and read to each class this requirement. I have gone over the EA for chapter 5 in class with an example on the board in class. Please check-in via email if you need help, or your student needs help with any EA. All EA's will focus on getting out of the recall/fact and comprehension quadrants of learning levels. I am noticing that the parent initial section on HW packets are incomplete, or work is incomplete but initials are given. Please help ensure your student is getting all work done by reviewing EACH assignment according to the instructions. I have seen several packets that have parent initials on work that is turned in incomplete. This section is to help catch any missed assignment instructions, or any challenge, before it is too late. A lot of students go through directions so quickly that they miss things in what was expected to do. Going over the assignment according to the instructions will help catch that- THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP! |
